About the Role
As a General Miner, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring safe, efficient underground production at Platinum Marikana. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor and Mine Overseer, you’ll oversee the mining cycle, conduct safety inspections, and manage resources to meet production targets. This role demands technical expertise, physical fitness, and a commitment to safety, with responsibilities spanning operations, administration, and team mentorship in a high-pressure underground setting.

Mining Operations & Production:

Conduct early morning safety inspections per company procedures.

Prepare mining faces for blasting and sign off on schedules.

Supervise the mining cycle, ensuring adherence to safety and productivity standards.

Optimize resources to enhance efficiency and address production shortfalls.

Report daily progress and manage end-of-shift activities.

Administrative & Reporting:

Complete timesheets, shift tally reports, and equipment checklists.

Order explosives and maintain equipment inventories.

Document leave rosters, work schedules, and equipment breakdowns to minimize delays.

Workplace Safety & ESG Compliance:

Align with SA PGM Operations’ Together for Sustainability (eTfS) principles.

Conduct safety meetings and risk assessments to identify hazards.

Enforce SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) policies, reviewing survey, ventilation, and engineering reports.

Education:
