About the Position

The successful candidate will help protect City of Ekurhuleni facilities, properties and bus station buildings. The role also involves assisting members of the public and municipal employees, monitoring security systems and maintaining effective security controls.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

Grade 12 / Matric

NQF Level 5 in Security or Management Assistance

PSIRA registration at Grade C

At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment

Candidates may be required to provide proof of the NQF level applicable to their qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Security Clerk will be responsible for:

Protecting government properties against unauthorised use.

Conducting regular patrols of interior and exterior areas.

Maintaining effective security controls.

Monitoring and responding to technical security alarms.

Working closely with local law-enforcement agencies.

Conducting surveillance of members of the public entering station buildings.

Identifying suspicious or irrational behaviour.

Issuing parking enforcement control tickets when required.

Providing first aid when members of the public or municipal employees are injured.

Responding to public queries and complaints.

Handling telephone enquiries and referring matters to relevant stakeholders.
