To ensure all necessary inbound and outbound stock management checks are conducted within the warehouse in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Warehouse Clerk is also responsible for accurately checking picked and palletised stock before dispatch and loading.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Basic computer literacy
Minimum 2 years’ warehouse experience in an FMCG, food production, or cold-storage environment
Experience in stock handling, despatch administration, and customer returns processing
On-the-job training in SOPs, quality standards, and food safety processes
Advantageous / Preferred:
Warehouse or Logistics related certificate
Understanding of food safety and cold-chain standards
Experience working in a temperature-controlled warehouse
Key Responsibilities
GRV Administration
Receive and match Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) accurately and timeously
Match GRV quantities and values to delivery notes
Capture required transactions in SAP
Match creditors’ invoices, delivery notes, and GRVs
Process short-supplied and over-supplied stock
Manage and address customer queries
Billing Administration
Ensure loading documents are captured correctly
Systematically pick stock according to FEFO (First Expired, First Out)
Print picking, checking, and loading documents
Conduct blind checks
Check outstanding shipments and take appropriate action
Print trip sheets
Maintain document control
Ensure invoice printers and required supplies are available
Stock Control
Ensure products are stacked correctly and securely
Monitor stock movement
Conduct spot checks during dispatch and loading
Ensure correct handling, storage, stacking, and rotation of stock
Minimise product damage
Prevent overloads, short loads, and incorrect loads
Cold Chain and Temperature Checking
Take daily temperatures
Maintain accurate temperature records
Report problems to the Warehouse Controller
Check delivery truck refrigeration units before loading and dispatch
Maintain the cold chain at all times
Ensure there is no frozen product in receiving
Stock Counts
Assist in preparing the warehouse for stock counts
Isolate damaged stock
Ensure products are accessible for counting
Conduct daily stock counts when requested by the Warehouse Shift Controller
Housekeeping and Safety
Maintain a high standard of warehouse housekeeping
Keep stacking neat, square, and secure
Maintain clean and tidy walkways
Comply with health and safety regulations and ISO requirements
Follow safe working practices and food handling requirements
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of warehouse and despatch operations
Understanding of FMCG or cold-storage environments
Knowledge of FEFO stock rotation
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Ability to interpret delivery documentation, invoices, loading schedules, and stock reports
Strong numerical accuracy
High attention to detail
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and ERP/SAP systems preferred)
Ability to work accurately under pressure
