Role Summary

The handyman is responsible for performing basic maintenance of grounds, equipment, and other small jobs that may be required from time to time. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values precision, and enjoys a hands-on role in a dynamic healthcare environment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality and Carry out basic repairs involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and general fixtures.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively, and conduct preventative maintenance to reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns
• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop area.
• Help with setting up and dismantling equipment for events and other activities as needed, and support the broader maintenance team in responding to emergency repair requests.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities and Contribute to maintaining a positive, professional work environment that reflects the values of Netcare.

Inherent Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a maintenance or handyman role.
• Basic skills with general tools and power tools and basic hand skills.
• Familiarity with safe workshop practices.
• Basic understanding of domestic electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry and basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
