Purpose

Operate, monitor, and maintain water pumping equipment, treatment systems, reservoirs, and livestock water supply infrastructure at Mara Research Centre to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous water distribution for farm/research operations.

Requirements

• Grade 10 / AET / ABET or equivalent qualification as recognised by SAQA
• Valid driver’s licence (Code B minimum – light motor vehicle; exception for persons with disabilities)

• Knowledge of operating machinery (pumps, engines, water systems)

• First Aider (advantageous)

Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Monitor water pumping equipment and treatment systems
• Ensure safe and efficient water distribution
• Operate and maintain farm water machinery
• Conduct routine inspections of water reservoirs
• Maintain livestock water supply infrastructure
• Perform administrative and safety-related tasks (e.g., logging, reporting incidents, following OHS procedures)
