Job Overview

AVBOB is inviting applications for four (4) skilled Drivers to join its Repatriation Hub in Midrand. The successful candidates will be responsible for the transportation of human remains between AVBOB agencies across South Africa and cross-border into neighbouring countries, ensuring professionalism, dignity, and compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be required to:

• Drive long distances to deliver human remains to designated locations, including neighbouring countries

  South African jobs

• Ensure timely and accurate collection and transportation according to planned routes and schedules

• Complete and maintain vehicle trip sheets and logbooks for every trip

• Conduct vehicle inspections before each trip, with particular focus on tyre condition

• Ensure vehicles are in sound running condition and arrange minor repairs when necessary

• Check oil, tyres, and overall vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior)

• Update monthly mileage records accurately

• Apply fuel-efficient driving techniques

• Report accidents, incidents, and traffic offences immediately

• Take full responsibility for assigned vehicles and equipment

• Adhere strictly to legal, company, and cross-border driving regulations

• Maintain a professional image and high standard of client service

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12)

Knowledge & Experience

• Valid Driver’s Licence

• Valid Public Driver Permit (PDP)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a long-distance driver

• Experience in a funeral service environment will be an advantage
