This is a hands-on underground mining role focused on safe blasting, production targets, team supervision, and compliance with strict safety standards in a trackless mining environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Blasting Certificate (essential – valid for underground mining)
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 2–3 years’ mining experience in Trackless Mining
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Medically fit to work in the specific mining area (underground fitness test)
  • Clear security screening record

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHERQ):

  • Ensure full adherence to PPE and safety procedures
  • Participate in SHERQ meetings, campaigns, and risk assessments
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations and report near misses
  • Perform Safe Behavioural Observations (SBOs) and Planned Task Observations (PTOs)

Production:

  • Conduct daily re-entry examinations
  • Mark off support and identify reef bands
  • Charge the face and perform safe blasting
  • Plan and coordinate daily mining activities to achieve production targets
  • Ensure effective utilisation of resources and equipment

Administration & People Management:

  • Complete all required documentation and administration
  • Plan leave cycles
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and training to team members
  • Manage performance, development, and fair work allocation
  • Drive team performance and motivation

Selection Process
