Job Purpose
Drive new business acquisition for DSV in the Gauteng region by identifying, prospecting, and closing deals with potential clients across freight forwarding, logistics, warehousing, and supply chain solutions. The role focuses on growing revenue through new customer wins, building long-term relationships, and achieving/exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive logistics market.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate leads for new business opportunities in freight, logistics, and supply chain services
- Conduct client presentations, needs analysis, and solution proposals
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts to close deals
- Develop and execute sales strategies and action plans to meet/exceed monthly/quarterly/annual targets
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline
- Manage full sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing and handover to operations
- Maintain accurate CRM records (salesforce.com or similar) – track activities, opportunities, and forecasts
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to expand market presence
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, pricing, solutions design) to ensure seamless service delivery
- Provide market intelligence and competitor feedback to management
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, Logistics, or related field (advantageous)
- Proven track record in new business sales (B2B preferred)
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, transport, or related industry (highly advantageous)
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (essential – role involves client visits across Gauteng)
- Computer literacy (MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint; CRM experience advantageous)
