Paid Internship Opportunity for Unemployed Graduates

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for participation in a one-year Graduate Development / Internship Programme commencing in April 2026.

This programme is designed to provide graduates with practical work exposure, structured training, mentoring, and learning opportunities aligned with organisational and national skills priorities.

✅ PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME

To equip unemployed youth with meaningful workplace exposure through a structured development programme that enhances employability, professional competence, and career readiness.

Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience while being supported through mentorship and continuous learning.

💰 STIPEND

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R8,000 for the full duration of the programme.

🎯 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

• Be South African citizens

• Be between 18 – 35 years old

• Have completed a relevant qualification (Degree / Diploma)

• Have a minimum 80% academic average for the completed qualification

• Have no formal work experience related to the field of study

• Be currently unemployed

• Comprehensive CV

• Certified copy of South African ID

• Certified copies of qualifications

🧩 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Participants will:

• Take part in structured training and development initiatives

• Gain practical workplace experience through rotational assignments

• Assist with departmental projects, research, and administration

• Apply academic knowledge in a real work environment

  Job search assistance

• Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow

• Comply with organisational policies and professional standards

• Submit progress reports and complete assessments

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members

📝 SELECTION PROCESS

• Qualification verification will be conducted

• Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted

• If no feedback is received within 30 days after closing date, consider your application unsuccessful
