Transport Planner – Courier Logistics

RTT is seeking a skilled and analytical Transport Planner to optimize routing, scheduling, and delivery efficiency across our divisions. The Transport Planner plays a critical role in ensuring cost‑effective operations, compliance with SOPs, and seamless coordination of first and last‑mile processes. This role supports business performance by improving route design, enhancing delivery effectiveness, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
– Analyse current delivery structures and recommend improvements to enhance logistics performance.
– Efficiently plan and schedule routes to minimize travel time, fuel consumption, and operational costs.
– Model routes considering traffic patterns, driver breaks, load sizes, distance, and delivery commitments.
– Collaborate closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and management to ensure resource readiness and smooth operations.
– Monitor active routes for discrepancies, violations, or deviations and address issues proactively.
– Ensure accurate and timely deliveries to maintain exceptional customer satisfaction.
– Manage route disruptions such as road closures, urgent deliveries, vehicle breakdowns, and unforeseen changes.
– Identify continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and optimize routing strategies.
– Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and internal SOPs.
– Track performance, analyse business data, and generate reports on route optimization, KPIs, and cost metrics.
What We’re Looking For
– A Logistic professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields (Essential).
– Minimum 2 years’ experience in route planning, transportation management, or logistics operations.
– Experience using route software/tools with strong analytical and strong advanced Excel capacity.
– A detail‑oriented problem solver, customer focused mindset, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, manages pressure well, and adapts to change.
– Familiarity with traffic regulations, route optimization techniques, and differentiators between primary and secondary logistics.
– Basic understanding of Power BI or related analytics tools is advantageous.
